Who is behind the Hornybasco Mild Jalapeno Sauce? 

As with most of our awesome brands, Hornybasco started as a hobby. Ludwig van Wyk, founder of Hornybasco, started his hobby in 2014. As a lover of hot sauce, but not extreme heat, he played around with the Jalapeno pepper until he found the perfect blend, creating the Hornybasco Mild Jalapeno Sauce.

Based in Paarl, the Hornybasco brand is a proudly local and proudly South African brand breaking into the hot sauce space. After being retrenched in 2018, Ludwig turned his hot sauce hobby into a business and began really building the brand.
