Learning the story behind the name: from the imagination of a child straight to your plate! The sauce-makers son came up with the name Johnny Hexburg for his army men toys and his rock band. At the age of 11 he entered into an agreement with his parents to allow them to use the name for their unique hot sauce.

Possibly one of the hottest hot sauces ive ever eaten, the burn is immediate. The flavour of the reaper is great and really shines through in this sauce!

Thanks for the card and the heads up! The hotter the sauce the better, Carolina Reaper… when opening the bottle you immediately get that distinctive smell of the Reaper. The taste absolutely amazing, fruity, rich in flavor, definitely one of the hottest and tastiest sauces in SA. For those unfamiliar with the Reaper, its taste is worth the burnnnn!

Ive been looking for a sauce that I cannot eat, I love hot sauces, knowing the reaper, I expected this sauce to have a big punch. Its pretty mild to be honest. With a SHU of between 1500,000 and 2000,000. I have a bottle of painmaker, which I enjoy. Only rated at 200,000, but far hotter than this.

The first time I tasted this sauce I was unsure if I would go back to it. Opening the bottle I was met with that smell of a super hot and I braced myself for some pain. This sauce is very hot but not as hot as I expected especially with food. I think being such a thin sauce you don’t really get a thick coating on anything that can burn too bad. At the moment I use it as some would tobasco. It is a fairly simple sauce that easily complements a dish. Needless to say I use it on everything.
Con: The bottle has a big mouth for how thin the sauce is. This is not big enough of a deal to reduce my score. However it could have been nice to have a bit more controlled of the flow with such a hot sauce.

Wow if you want to know what reaper tastes like, this is the one to buy great heat, very good taste, just love this would give this a 9/10 heat and a 11/10 on flavour.
