Mascoville

We love real food. It’s our passion. That’s why we started making Hot Sauce in our own kitchen, to bring and share our passion for good food. And I love it spicy as well. We continually improve our recipes with habanero chilies from the Western Cape.

My name is Ard and I’ve been living in Cape Town for 5 years now. Originally I’m from The Netherlands and cooking has always been my zen. In June 2019 we officially launched Mascoville Original Habanero at Fat Cactus in Woodstock. 

The Mascoville name is composed of the words ‘Mas’ and ‘Scoville’. Mas is ‘more’ in Spanish and Scoville stands for the heat: The Scoville scale is a measurement of the pungency (spiciness or “heat”) of chili peppers and other spicy foods. So you could explain this hot sauce brand name as ‘More Heat’.
